Lesotho 2026: Day 7

Today was our last day at the work site. We continued digging for the latrine and painting the second room of the pre-school while some of  the painting crew came out and painted the alphabet, numbers, and shapes on the walls of the other room.

Lumela! Today we finished our last day painting at TTL! It went by so much faster than I thought, and we got SO much more done than we expected as well! The last two days were pretty emotional (in a very good way) after I was able to feed one of the babies at TTL, hold a few babies and just interact with them, and also see one of the older girls be able to go home! She was so excited, and it made me tear up because I was just so happy for her. I think we did amazing jobs with each of our murals, walls, and hallways. To me, the walls seem brighter, more stimulating, and it feels like a home! I feel very proud of myself and those that worked around me, especially through the long working days and getting over the hurdle of extra thick acrylic paint as our 鈥渢ool of choice.鈥 I am especially blessed that I was able to make a mark and finish tiny little details, one of the walls in the night room, and the lettering and designs of the hallways! It feels awesome to be able to serve those that need it, and I can鈥檛 wait to continue for the next few weeks in Ramabanta! After we were done with painting at TTL, we traveled to the work site, and it was so awesome to see how much hard work the construction group put in. I鈥檓 so proud of all my friends who really pushed themselves, got out of their comfort zones, and just all worked hard!!
